Christmas Tag

This month has been so hectic, as December usually is. I've had exams, my birthday and its subsequent celebrations, and overtime to fill my days. I'm now 21 and can honestly say that I had the best birthday ever. :) Thank you to everyone who made it so special.

I saw this Christmas tag on Hannah's blog and decided to fill it in myself, as all my exams are over meaning I can concentrate on my absolute favourite time of the year.

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

My birthday is on the 13th so December is easily my favourite month, and I'm an almost annoyingly festive person. I love that Christmas is the time when everything is made sparkly and pretty, and that we all get to take a few days off and chill out with our loved ones.

What's your favourite make-up look for the festive season?

I tend to just wear my 'going-out' make-up more often – massive dark eyes (Dazzle Dust, Morgana Cryptoria and Sleek palettes are favourites) with Collection 2000 glitter eyeliner, or mulled wine lips and cat flicks. I might experiment with some little stick-on crystals at the corners of my eyes this year, too.

Bryan and I at a 40s-themed night – by some miracle I managed to do winged eyeliner in a mad rush.

Real tree or fake tree?

Sadly this is the first Christmas in memory that we haven't, but we've always had pets and so a real tree isn't feasible when there are little paws to think of! My mum bought ours just before I was born and people told her she was crazy to have spent £100 on it, but it's still going strong. :)

Every year it takes me roughly two hours to fit every decoration on.

Giving or receiving presents?

Both, always! Everyone loves receiving presents and my mum, friends and boyfriend really do know me well. :) I'm a bit mental when it comes to my own Christmas shopping. I start when I get paid in September to help spread the cost over the next couple of months, and I've got it all finished now. I used to work in a gift shop so I'm crazy about wrapping. This year it's very Goth: black and silver glittery Baroque paper with wired organza ribbon and sparkly black tissue. ^_^ The whole process of picking and wrapping presents thrills me and the other day I stayed up until 2AM doing my wrapping!

I went a little OTT this year ... Do you like my Goth-appropriate paper?

Do you open your presents Christmas morning or evening?

The morning, of course. :) We get up, make coffee and then head into the living room. My mum always lets me open one gift on Christmas Eve as well, at midnight.

Handmade Christmas cards or bought?

Bought. I like charity cards and slightly quirky ones, so I shop around.

What's your favourite Christmas film?

The Nightmare Before Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, The Grinch, Elf, Home Alone, and as of yesterday National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Zero!

What's your favourite Christmas food?

My mum's mammoth Christmas dinner: turkey and ham with two kinds of stuffing, roast potatoes/mashed potatoes/potato croquettes, cocktail sausages wrapped in streaky bacon, sweetcorn, and sweet potatoes all drenched in gravy. Basically just a carb and meat party.

Who am I tagging to do this post?

Is there actually a means of tagging on here? Regardless I'd love to hear everyone's responses. :)

I LOVE how you wrapped your gifts! There's no reason not to have some dark elegance for the holidays. And you and your man look SO adorable!! ;)
